The Email Marketing Consent feature gives customers full control over their communication preferences. By providing a transparent and user-friendly subscription management system, it helps stores comply with privacy regulations and ensures customers only receive the most relevant emails.
1. Feature Overview #
- Customers can agree to marketing subscriptions during registration with a single checkbox.
- Registered users can manage subscriptions in My Account → Account Details.
- Provides granular control over specific email types, such as:
- Back-in-stock notifications
- Review reminders
- Wishlist promotions
- Helps stores build trust and comply with privacy regulations.
2. Enabling Email Marketing Consent #
- Navigate to: Theme Settings → Shop → Email Marketing Consent.
- Toggle Email Marketing Consent ON.
- Optional: Enable “Allow managing individual email subscriptions” to let registered users manage each subscription type separately on the My Account → Account Details page.
Once enabled, unregistered users see a subscription checkbox on the registration form and checkout page, allowing them to opt-in for marketing emails.
3. Managing Subscriptions (For Registered Users) #
Registered users can manage their email preferences in:
My Account → Account Details
- Fully subscribe or unsubscribe from all email communications.
- Selectively enable or disable specific email types based on preference.
The availability of each subscription type depends on:
- The corresponding option being enabled in Theme Settings.
- The email template being enabled under WooCommerce → Settings → Emails.
4. Available Subscription Options #
Users can choose from the following email types:
- Wishlist: Product Back in Stock
- Sent when an item on their wishlist is back in stock.
- Wishlist: On Sale Item
- Sent when an item on their wishlist goes on sale.
- Wishlist: Promotional
- Sent for promotions related to products on their wishlist.
- Emails can be configured via: Dashboard → Products → Wishlists → Popular Products → Create Promotion
- Abandoned Cart
- Reminds customers about incomplete purchases, encouraging order completion.
- Review Reminder
- Reminds customers to leave a review for a recent purchase.
