The Theme Settings Backup feature allows you to restore previous theme configurations that were saved automatically or manually. This provides a safety net when experimenting with theme settings, letting you quickly revert any unwanted changes.
Important:
Always create a manual backup before making significant theme changes to ensure you can restore your preferred settings.
How Backup Works #
Omniverse manages backups on two levels: Automatic and Manual, each serving different purposes.
1. Automatic Backup #
Automatic backups run in the background whenever you access and modify theme settings. The system maintains up to 5 automatic backups at a time.
Behavior of automatic backups:
- Automatically creates a backup when theme settings are modified
- Stores a maximum of 5 backup files
- Deletes the oldest backup when creating the 6th one
- Cannot be manually deleted (managed automatically)
Note:
Automatic backups are temporary and will be overwritten as you continue making changes to your theme settings.
2. Manual Backup #
Manual backups provide permanent storage for theme configurations and full control over backup management.
Features of manual backups:
- Created on-demand by clicking the “Create Backup” button
- Permanently stored until manually deleted
- Can be exported for external storage
- Ideal for saving stable configurations
Accessing backup tools:
- Navigate to Theme Settings → Backup
- Click “Create Backup” to generate a manual backup
- Use “Export” to save the backup externally
- Restore or import a backup via Theme Settings → Import/Export/Reset
Important:
Restoring a backup will overwrite all current theme settings. Ensure you have a recent backup if you want to preserve any current configurations.
