You can customize the standard WooCommerce cart page using Elementor or WPBakery Page Builder in Omniverse. Below is a simple guide to create your own cart layout.
Quick steps: create a custom cart page #
- Dashboard → Layouts → Cart → click Add New.
- Give your layout a name.
- Click Create Layout.
- Build your layout by adding sections and elements from the page builder.
You can start from a predefined template or build entirely from scratch using any available builder elements.
Only two special cart elements are provided by the theme:
- Cart table – shows the products in the customer’s cart, including product images, titles, prices, and quantity selectors. The table also includes the coupon form.
- Cart totals – displays cart totals and available shipping methods.
These are the core building blocks you’ll use to display the cart’s contents and summary exactly how you want.
Empty cart layout #
You can also create a custom layout for when the cart is empty.
- Set the layout type to Empty Cart.
- By default, there’s one element named Empty cart to use, but you’re free to add any other builder elements you like.
This allows you to design helpful or promotional screens that appear only when a customer has no items in their cart.
Tips for using the cart builder #
- Mix and match elements: while Cart table and Cart totals are the only dedicated elements, you can use rows, columns, banners, buttons, or any widget from your chosen page builder to create branded or sale‑focused cart pages.
- Keep mobile usability in mind: if you add extra sections, ensure they collapse or reorder cleanly on smaller screens.
- Test empty vs. populated states: preview both states so the design feels cohesive whether a customer has items or not.
