Product labels help highlight important product information such as promotions, new arrivals, featured items, or custom highlights. The Omniverse theme includes built-in label types like New, Hot, Sale, and Custom labels, which can improve product visibility and encourage customer engagement.
You can manage general label settings in:
Theme Settings → Shop → Product Labels
From here, you can enable/disable labels and adjust their styles.
1. New Label #
The New label indicates recently added or specially marked products. It can be applied in three ways:
Manual Assignment (Permanent) #
- Go to Dashboard → Products.
- Edit a product.
- Enable the New label option in product settings.
- Save the product.
Scheduled Period #
- Edit the product.
- Specify the date when the New label should expire.
- Save changes.
Automatic for Newly Added Products #
- Go to Theme Settings → Shop → Product Labels.
- Set the Automatic “New” Label Period (number of days).
- Newly added products will automatically display the label during this period.
2. Hot (Featured) Label #
The Hot label is automatically applied to products marked as Featured in WooCommerce.
Method 1 — Quick Featured Mark #
- Go to Dashboard → Products.
- Click the Star icon next to the product.
Method 2 — Product Settings #
- Edit the product.
- Locate Catalog Visibility (top-right panel).
- Click Edit and enable This is a featured product.
- Save changes.
3. Sale Label #
The Sale label appears automatically when a product has a sale price.
Setting Sale Price #
- Go to Dashboard → Products → Edit Product.
- Open the General tab.
- Enter a Sale Price.
- Optionally schedule the sale period.
- Save changes.
Display Sale Percentage #
You can show the discount percentage instead of text:
Theme Settings → Shop → Product Labels → Shop Sale Label in Percentage
4. Custom Labels #
Custom labels allow you to create unique product highlights such as:
- Limited Edition
- Bestseller
- Exclusive
- Special Offer
Creating Custom Labels #
- Go to Dashboard → Products → Attributes.
- Create an attribute (e.g., “Label”).
- Click Configure Terms.
- Add label values (text or images).
Display Settings #
- Enable Show Attribute Label on Products in attribute settings.
- Assign the attribute to products via Product Data → Attributes.
Label Appearance #
- Without an image → text label displayed.
- With an image → image label displayed on product grid and product image.
5. Best Practices #
- Use labels sparingly to maintain clarity.
- Keep label text short and impactful.
- Combine promotional labels with marketing campaigns for better results.
