The theme provides enhanced product category presentation options that improve navigation, product discovery, and overall user experience. Categories can be displayed in multiple locations across your website, each with specific customization features.
1. Category Display Overview #
Product categories can be displayed in three primary areas:
- Shop page title section
- Header search form
- Browse categories menu (Header Builder or Mega Menu)
Each location offers different configuration options depending on your design and navigation needs.
2. Shop Page Title Categories #
Displaying categories in the shop page title helps users quickly navigate between product categories.
Basic Setup #
- Go to Theme Settings → Product Archive → Page Title
- Enable Categories in Page Title
The category menu will automatically include all existing shop categories.
Display Options #
Standard Dropdown View #
- Subcategories appear in dropdown menus when hovering over parent categories
- Keeps navigation clean and organized
Show Current Category Ancestors #
- Displays full category hierarchy
- Shows parent categories along with subcategories
- Improves context during navigation
Show Category Neighbors (If No Children) #
- Displays sibling categories when the current category has no subcategories
- If disabled, only the current category is shown
Note:
Empty categories can be automatically hidden from display.
3. Header Search Form Categories #
You can enhance search functionality by allowing users to select product categories directly in the header search bar.
How to Enable #
- Open Header Builder
- Edit the Search element
- Enable Select Categories option
This adds a category dropdown inside the search form.
Note:
The category list is automatically generated and cannot be manually customized.
4. Browse Categories Menu #
This option allows you to create a fully customizable category navigation menu.
Setup Steps #
- Go to Appearance → Menus
- Create a new menu
- Add product categories
- Arrange categories as desired
- Open Header Builder
- Add the Categories element
- Select your created menu
This provides full control over category ordering and display.
5. Category Icons & Images #
The theme allows adding icons and images to product categories to improve visual navigation.
Where to Edit Category Icons #
Navigate to:
Products → Categories → Edit Category
Available Icon Types #
Category Heading Image #
- Displayed on category archive pages
- Overrides default shop page header image
- Useful for branding or promotional visuals
Shop Navigation Icon #
- Small icons shown in category navigation menus
- Typically used in shop page title categories
Main Menu Icon #
- Used in main navigation menus
- Should match your overall site design
