Theme settings presets allow you to create custom configurations for specific sections of your website. This feature lets you:
- Apply different colors to individual product categories
- Set unique layouts for particular pages
- Customize fonts for selected posts
- Implement mobile-specific configurations
- And much more
Presets override global theme settings in targeted areas, providing flexible design and functionality control.
What Are Theme Presets? #
Presets are context-specific settings that apply in certain areas of your website. By default, all settings inherit global values, but presets let you override them selectively. You can target presets for pages, posts, categories, user roles, devices, and more.
How to Create Theme Settings Presets #
All presets are managed in:
Dashboard → Theme Settings → Settings Presets
From here, you can view existing presets, create new ones, or delete unused presets.
Step-by-step creation:
- Go to Dashboard → Theme Settings → Settings Presets
- Click “Add a new preset”
- Enter the preset name and click OK
- Configure the preset rules to define where it will apply, then click Save conditions
- Select which options to override by unchecking the “Inherit” box for specific settings
- After customizing, click Save settings
Tip:
Use the “To global settings” button anytime to return to your main theme settings interface.
How to Use Preset Rules #
When creating a new preset, all settings initially inherit global values. To customize, you must manually override them by unchecking the “Inherit” option.
Omniverse provides various rule types for precise targeting:
- Post type – Apply preset to specific post types (e.g., Products, Posts, Projects)
- Post type single page – Customize settings for individual post or product detail pages
- Post ID – Apply preset to selected posts or pages only
- Taxonomy – Apply to categories, tags, or custom taxonomies
- Term ID – Target specific taxonomy terms
- User role – Apply different settings based on logged-in user roles (Admin, Editor, Subscriber, Customer, etc.)
- Filtered by attribute – Target posts/products containing specific attributes or custom fields
- Filtered by term – Apply settings for content associated with certain categories, tags, or terms
- Filtered by any attribute – Apply when content matches any attribute from a set
- Filtered by stock status – Target products based on availability
- Custom rules – Special presets for 404 pages, Search, My Account, Shop Page, Mobile devices, etc.
Note:
You can combine multiple rules for a single preset by clicking “Add new rule”.
Important:
Always save your conditions first before configuring preset settings to ensure rules are applied correctly.
