The Free Shipping Progress Bar encourages customers to buy more by showing how close they are to receiving free shipping. It appears on the product page, mini cart, cart page, and checkout, displaying the remaining amount needed to unlock this bonus.
1. Feature Overview #
- Stimulates customers to increase cart value to qualify for free shipping.
- Displays a dynamic progress bar with remaining amount.
- Works in combination with WooCommerce Free Shipping method.
2. Enabling the Free Shipping Progress Bar #
- Navigate to: Theme Settings → Shop → Free Shipping Bar.
- Toggle the feature ON.
- Configure the following options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Calculation | Set a custom goal amount or make it shipping-zone dependent. For example, $150 for one country and $250 for others. The bar updates based on the user’s shipping address. |
| Coupon Discount | Include or exclude coupon values in the progress calculation. |
| Goal Amount | Total cart value required to apply free shipping. |
| Locations | Choose where to display the progress bar (product page, mini cart, cart, checkout). |
| Initial Message | Message displayed before free shipping is achieved. Use [remainder] shortcode to show remaining amount. |
| Success Message | Message displayed once the minimum amount is reached. |
Enabling this feature in the theme adds the progress bar widget, but free shipping must also be enabled in WooCommerce.
3. Activating Free Shipping in WooCommerce #
- Go to: WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
- Create a Shipping Zone (e.g., country-specific or global).
- Add a Shipping Method called Free Shipping.
- Edit the Free Shipping method:
- Select “A minimum order amount”
- Set the value to match the Goal Amount configured in Theme Settings.
The progress bar will now correctly reflect the remaining amount based on the user’s cart and shipping zone.
