The Price Tracker feature helps convert hesitant visitors into buyers by notifying them when a product’s price drops. It captures leads automatically and allows re-engagement via email, boosting conversions and recovering potentially lost sales.
1. Feature Overview #
- Visitors can sign up for notifications when a product’s price changes.
- Users can set their desired price in the My Account area.
- Administrators have access to statistics on tracked products and desired prices, helping optimize sales and marketing strategies.
2. Enabling the Price Tracker #
- Go to Theme Settings → Shop → Price Tracker.
- Enable the Price Tracker option.
- Configure additional settings:
- Enable privacy policy agreement checkbox.
- Set up the desired price submission form.
- Restrict Price Tracker functionality to logged-in users, if needed.
3. Adding a Product to Price Tracking #
Visitors can add a product to tracking by following these steps:
- Navigate to the product page.
- Click the “Track Price” button (located alongside Add to Wishlist or Add to Compare).
- If using the Product Layout Builder, ensure the Price Tracker Button element is added to the product page.
Popup Options #
Depending on the configuration, clicking the button may trigger a popup where the user:
- Enters their email.
- Sets the desired price.
- Agrees to the site terms.
If the email is automatically taken from the user profile and other options are disabled, the popup won’t appear, and the product is added to the tracking list automatically.
4. Managing Tracked Products (For Users) #
Users can view and manage tracked products in the My Account area:
- View all tracked products.
- Change the desired price (if enabled).
- Delete a tracked product to unsubscribe from notifications.
Deleting a product from the list is equivalent to clicking “Stop Tracking” on the product page.
5. Configuring Email Templates #
After enabling the Price Tracker, two new email templates appear in WooCommerce → Settings → Emails:
- Price Tracker Alert – Sent when a tracked product’s price drops.
- Price Tracker Alert Confirmed – Confirms successful subscription to price drop alerts.
These can be edited using standard WooCommerce email customization tools.
6. Viewing Tracked Products Statistics (For Admins) #
Administrators can monitor the Price Tracker data:
- Go to WooCommerce → Products → Price Tracker.
- View:
- Which products are being tracked.
- Who is tracking them.
- The desired price set by users.
This information helps plan sales and marketing strategies more effectively.
